Week of 12 May 2002

Haven't posted in a while, well, because my job isn't half bad!

I'm getting semi-annoyed with various co-workers. An assistant manager I worked with last week kept going off to do things without informing me. I still don't know all the ropes yet, so it was a pain. He left 3 different times and twice were at least 20 minute stretches. I like working when I am there, I mean I can't just sit around. I need tasks. I feel like some co-workers are taking advantage of that and farting around while I do everything.
That annoying girl Heidi has just not been getting scheduled for over a month now. Whenever the store manager would schedule her, Heidi would say she couldn't work whatever it was. My store manager said that Heidi had said she was available at anytime, so she just stopped scheduling her. Suits me fine. She is annoying and a pain to work with.
Other than some co-workers and the occational "I shouldn't have to pay late fees (even though I turned the item in late)." customer, my job is pretty cool. Especially since I am getting the hang of it. I <3 free rentals!

Throw me a fricken bone...

Sometimes I think that my boss is trying to get me to resign by not giving me any work to do.....

But back to the work stuff.

Mainly the shoot was fun and it was in a court room in Yonkers. At some point I doze off with the girl next to me in the late afternoon haze between takes and the crew points and laughs at us. We felt grand. I blushed. All in all it was okay.

I'm now trying to get new headshots and am still deleting porn. :)

I hate dinners with Families. Mainly my own.

Without a doubt, as if it were the only thing that we could all talk about (and it is), my usual ream of questions get asked at me in a curt unanswerable manner while we wait for usual Chinese fare to come along. Mother's day dinner, Brooklyn Chinatown, actress niece surrounded by mostly finance oriented aunts and uncles. The cute younger cousins - on sports teams and honor rolls and learning the violin - sit bemusedly and silent, watching the show. Sometimes standing up for me. Mostly glad they're not me. Grandparents fortunately don't know enough English to care.

Q: So how was that Sopranos shoot last week?
A: Good.

Q: Any lines?
A: No

Q: Do we see you?
A: Err . . .

Q: Did it pay well?
A: Um . . .

Q: Was it a strip club scene?
A: No.

I hate being the loser black sheep of my family. I can't wait and be in LA with the other underachieving side . . .
